How to Play Frogger?

The goal of Frogger is simple: guide your frog safely from the bottom of the screen to one of the five lily pad homes at the top. Navigate through treacherous traffic and unpredictable river currents to reach safety.

Controls:

• Use the ARROW KEYS to move your frog: up, down, left, and right
• A/B BUTTON CONTROLS: These are typically mapped to keys on a standard keyboard during gameplay
• For alternate controls, you can also use W (up), A (left), S (down), and D (right)

Gameplay Steps:

1. Start at the bottom of the screen and press UP to move forward
2. Cross the first area – a busy road with multiple lanes of traffic
3. Avoid all moving vehicles, timing your movements between gaps in traffic
4. Reach the riverbank and navigate across floating logs and moving turtles
5. Be careful not to fall in the water – the river is deadly without support!
6. Jump on moving platforms, but be careful not to ride them off-screen
7. Guide your frog into an empty lily pad at the top of the screen
8. Repeat until all five frog homes are filled, then advance to the next level
9. Watch for timing and plan your route carefully with each attempt

What happens if my frog falls in the water? If your frog falls into the river without being on a log, turtle, or other safe platform, it will drown and you'll lose one of your frog lives. Be sure to jump only onto platforms that can support you!

Can I move in all four directions? Yes! While the primary movement is upward, you can move left, right, down, and up. This allows you to dice traffic, adjust your position on moving platforms, and avoid obstacles that might push you into danger.

What are the snakes, crocodiles, and otters for? These creatures present additional hazards in later levels. Snakes and crocodiles will kill your frog on contact, while otters may push you off logs. Watch for these obstacles as they appear and plan your path to avoid them while still reaching the safety nests at the top.
